From haunted houses to spooky tram rides, an entire haunted plantation, and even ghost tours, Hawaii offers adult and teen visitors and locals alike a surprising number of scary things to do this 2023 Halloween. What else would you expect from one of the most haunted islands in the whole world?
Organized by Jorge Garcia, Skeleton Key Hawaii is a brand new haunted house with the theme of Terror Planet. This haunted house is recommended for those aged 12 and over. This scary attraction is not for the faint of heart, although there are a few specific evening hours that are milder and meant for kids or more timid adults.

Nightmare Live is a haunted attraction hosted by Dole Plantations. This startling event has been open for more than 10 years. This is one of Hawaii’s scariest Halloween events and because of this, it is not recommended for children under the age of 13. Instead of being a simple haunted house, this is an entire haunted village full of thrills. The very scary video clips that are on their Facebook page give you a taste of what you’ll experience at the plantation.

For a bone chilling event, head to Waimanalo Beach, for their Haunted Trolley Graveyard experience. This spooky tour is walkable, with escape-room like challenges. Come and get scared, if you dare.
With year-round frightening events, plus special Halloween events, Mysteries of Hawai’i is a great way for adults to spend the Halloween season. The whole month of October features different special walking tours including the Ghosts of Honolulu and Waikiki's Ghosts of Sacred Sands, to name a few. All haunted tours are led by Master storyteller Lopaka Kapanui who has hosted these spooky tours for nearly 25 years!
